Patient Advocacy and Consulting
What is a patient advocate?
Patients need someone who can look out for their best interests and help navigate the confusing healthcare system — in other words, an advocate
A nurse advocate is a nurse who works on behalf of patients to maintain quality of care and protect patients’ rights. They intervene when there is a care concern, and following the proper channels, work to resolve any patient care issues. Realistically, every nurse is an advocate. There are, however, certain positions which allow nurses to specialize in patient advocacy.
It can be overwhelming for patients to remember which doctor they’re seeing, which medications they need, and what’s coming up next in care plans.
At Expert RN’s we have the knowledge and skills to help navigate the hospital system, explain your diagnosis in detail, and explain potential outcomes. We are also here to help decipher the information from doctor visits, set up meetings with care teams, and organize home care, and medications.
Some of our clients are the elderly with a diagnosis of cancer, Parkinsons, Alzheimer or other types of dementia. Some of our clients have suffered a traumatic brain injury, stroke, or another debilitating disease process.
Let us help you get through this difficult time.
